T2Snap Features

Everything T2Snap does, in plain language: the T2 main return, the 13 core CRA schedules we support today, eight tax years of form versions, a guided 5-step workflow, built-in validation, T183CORP e-signature, and both XML and official CRA PDF output.

What T2Snap prepares

Preparer software for Canadian-controlled private corporations (CCPCs) and small corporate returns.

T2 main return

Full identification, small-business-deduction block, Part I tax calculation, and the summary / payment / certification pages — matched to the official form layout for the corporation's fiscal year.

13 core CRA schedules

Data entry, automatic carry-over calculations, validation, XML emission, and official CRA fillable-PDF output for each schedule listed below.

Eight tax years (2019–2026)

Each fiscal year is routed to the correct official main-form layout version, with legacy schedule layouts for 2019–2021. Cross-year and short fiscal periods are supported.

Alberta AT1 (standalone)

Alberta corporate tax return supported with CAN-field entry, dual-revision form routing, and an automatic CT-2 exemption prompt.

T183CORP e-signature

Email-confirmed electronic signing of the T183CORP authorization, aligned with the CRA e-signature policy effective 2023-06-22.

Local-first privacy

Return data is encrypted on your own device (AES-256-GCM) and never uploaded to a T2Snap server.

How it works

A guided five-step workflow from entity setup to submission.

1

Identification

Business number, corporation type, fiscal period, and status questions.

2

Schedules

Enter figures on official line layouts; totals and carry-overs calculate automatically.

3

Tax calculation

Federal Part I tax, small-business deduction, and provincial example calculations.

4

Review & validate

The validation engine checks every field before you submit; errors must be cleared.

5

Submit

Export XML, and generate official CRA fillable PDFs for review and signature.

Output & workflow features

What you get out of T2Snap.

Official CRA PDF output

The T2 main form and each declared schedule are filled onto the CRA's own official fillable PDFs and merged into a single review package.

XML export

A structured XML submission file is generated by a dedicated serializer, gated so only schedules with content are emitted.

Validation engine

A centralized engine with an error dictionary flags problems page by page. Errors block submission; warnings are advisory.

Year-to-year carry-forward

Entity details and capital-cost balances can be carried forward to the next year automatically.

GIFI line-item detail

Balance sheet and income statement entry uses official RC4088 GIFI codes with searchable line items.

Encrypted local storage

Returns are stored as AES-256-GCM encrypted files plus local browser storage — no central database of client tax data.

Scope note

Current release scope. This release supports the T2 main return and the 13 schedules listed above, for the 2019–2026 tax years. Additional T2 schedules are in development and will be added in a future release. The T1134 / T1135 information returns, ReFILE (amended returns), and T2 Auto-fill are not included in the current release and are planned as future functionality. Where the product supports electronic filing with the CRA, that capability is described as planned until it is fully released — T2Snap does not describe itself as certified by the CRA.
